These pages had its roots in the "Lives of the Saints" pages. Father Kail C. Ellis, O.S.A., the Dean of College of the Liberal Arts and Sciences at Villanova University (where I work) suggested that a daily quote from St. Augustine would be a nice complement to those pages. Since he was (1) nice enough to provide me with the book Augustine Day by Day and he is (2) my boss, the project was quickly commenced upon.

Fortunately for me, these short quotations take a lot less time to type in then the passages from Butler's Lives of the Saints, so there should be a new quotation every day. No promises, but I'll try.
